Most of my career has gone to getting the right people around what's worth building and clearing the path for them to do it well. The best technology work happens when people have clear context, real autonomy, and enough trust to push back without fearing reactions.
I care about how software is built. I like code that's honest about what it does. Types that don't lie, data that doesn't change behind your back, systems that stay readable and stable over time. I like writing code. Mostly Rust lately.
I play a lot of board games — anything with interesting decisions and good company. I used to play backgammon competitively and ended up winning the Danish championship in 2007 and earning the Grand Master title in 2013. These days the dice roll less often, but the appetite for probability and risk assessment hasn't gone anywhere.
I have opinions about coffee that nobody asked for. The wine collection has gotten slightly out of hand. I live with my wife Tanja and our two daughters, Vera and Mira, who keep things interesting.
